Hi Priya, need a hand before you check out?

The question behind the cart

“I wasn’t sure which size to choose.”

A conversation can help.

The work between conversations

A reminder helps. An answer can help more.

Someone gets distracted. Someone needs sizing advice. Someone has already ordered. The same repeated reminder won’t suit every cart.

Use Pulse to adapt the next step to the response. Share the checkout link, check the order and offer help when the customer still needs it.

Illustrative journey. Requires Pulse, a cart data source, order-status connection and configured messaging and voice channels.

Plan your recovery flow
01 / Make it easy to return

Start with a thoughtful reminder.

Bring in the abandoned cart and its checkout URL. The cart preset waits two hours after enrollment before the first WhatsApp reminder.

  • Include the customer’s name and their checkout link.
  • Configure WhatsApp templates and messaging rules for the audience.
  • Give the customer an easy way to ask for help.
02 / Answer the question

When a message isn’t enough, talk.

If the customer remains quiet, the example flow offers checkout help after its follow-up window. With no reply, it waits again before a recovery call.

  • Give the voice agent your product knowledge and a clear goal.
  • Use the call to answer questions and help with checkout.
  • Review the call outcome before deciding what happens next.
03 / Count the right outcome

An order counts when the store confirms it.

On the preset’s order-check branches, look up the purchase in your store. Mark a cart recovered only when the returned order field verifies it.

  • Connect the required cart and order-status lookups.
  • Keep replies and positive call intent separate from purchases.
  • Inspect the workflow history to understand the result.

A few practical details

Questions,
answered.

Is this a one-click Shopify integration?

This example uses the Pulse cart-recovery preset with a configured cart source and order-status APIs. It does not assume a native Shopify connector. The setup depends on your store’s available data and APIs.

Can I change the timing and messages?

Yes. The preset is a starting point. Adapt the waits, follow-up window, messages and voice goal to your process, while respecting the channel’s messaging and calling requirements.

Does every abandoned cart get a phone call?

No. The example follows different paths. A verified order ends its branch. The call is on the no-reply path after checkout help and another wait; failed or unreachable contacts have separate outcomes.

Will the workflow stop as soon as someone purchases?

The preset verifies purchases at its configured order-check steps; it does not continuously watch your store. If you need additional checks or purchase-event handling, that must be part of the workflow you configure.

What counts as recovered?

A purchase confirmed through the configured order-status field. A message reply, a read receipt or positive intent on a call is tracked separately and does not by itself count as a recovered cart.
