Getting Started

Splice is invite-only. An admin sends you a link, you verify with a one-time code, and you land in the workspace with your role already assigned. No credit card, no setup wizard to fight through.

Joining a workspace#

  1. 1Open the invite link from your email. The page shows the workspace name, the address the invite was issued to, and the role you'll get.
  2. 2Click Accept. Splice emails a 6-digit code to that address.
  3. 3Enter the code. This verifies your email, signs you in, and accepts the invite in one step - you don't sign in separately afterwards.
  4. 4You land on the dashboard as a member of that workspace, with your role's permissions already applied.

What is a workspace?

A workspace is your company account: its members, roles, agents, channels, leads, conversations and billing all live inside it. One workspace can run several agents, each with its own instructions, channels and knowledge.

One account belongs to exactly one workspace

This is enforced, not a convention - accepting a second invite on the same email is rejected with a 409. If you consult for two companies, use a separate email address for each.

Ways to sign in#

Once your account exists, any of these work on future visits:

MethodHow it works
GoogleOne click, no password. Use the Google account on your work email address.
Email + one-time codeSplice emails a 6-digit code. Entering it signs you in. Nothing to remember.
Email + passwordOnly if you've set a password. Your email must be verified first, otherwise sign in is refused with Please verify your email before signing in.

Creating a workspace#

Starting fresh rather than joining a team? Email support@spliceai.co and we'll provision one. You'll get an admin invite. Accepting it activates the workspace and makes you its owner. Until an admin invite is accepted, a new workspace sits in a pending state and can't be used.

Dashboard layout#

The left rail has seven destinations. Which ones you can see depends on your role - Members, Roles, Routing and Campaigns are permission-gated, so an ordinary member may see fewer than an admin.

SectionWhat's inside
DashboardToday's activity, agent status, and what needs your attention.
InboxEvery conversation across every channel: drafts to approve, live threads, escalations.
AgentAgents, Playground, Voice, Integrations, Chat Widget, Help Center - everything about how the agent behaves.
OutreachEmail campaigns, WhatsApp campaigns, and outbound phone calls.
WorkspaceTasks, Routing, Members, Teams and Roles.
BillingCredit balance, usage breakdown, and phone numbers.
SettingsYour profile, timezone, notifications and integrations.

The top bar has global search - it finds leads, conversations and tasks by name from anywhere. On a phone, the same destinations appear as a bottom tab bar. The inbox is fully usable on mobile and Splice can be installed as a home-screen app with push notifications.

Your first hour#

Four things, in this order, take you from empty workspace to answered customers:

  1. 1Create an agent (Agent → Agents). Start from a template or describe the job in your own words, and Splice drafts its identity and instructions for you to edit.
  2. 2Feed it your knowledge (Agent → Agents → Knowledge): docs, FAQs, pricing, or a URL to crawl. This is what it answers from.
  3. 3Connect a channel (Agent → Integrations): email forwarding, WhatsApp, a phone number, or drop the chat widget on your site.
  4. 4Test in the Playground, then turn Autopilot on. Until you do, the agent drafts replies for you to approve rather than sending them.

Nothing sends by itself until you say so

A new agent is paused. Auto-send is per channel and requires both the channel toggle and a confidence threshold to be met, so the safe path is to leave everything drafting, approve a dozen replies from the inbox, and switch channels to auto once you trust it.

Where to go next

  • Setting Up Your Agent - identity, instructions, knowledge and the autopilot switches.
  • Channels - connecting email, WhatsApp, phone and the website widget.
  • Inbox - approving drafts, taking over a conversation, and escalations.
