Billing

Splice is credit-based: you hold a balance, and work debits it as it happens. There's no per-message quota to track and no surprise overage - when the balance runs down, the agent stops rather than billing you for more.

How billing works#

  • One credit is ₹1. The balance is per workspace.
  • Every piece of AI work debits the balance the moment it happens - replies, calls, transcription, knowledge ingestion, campaign sends.
  • Billing lives at Billing in the main nav, with three tabs: Overview, Usage and Phone numbers.
  • Credits and subscription status are separate. An expired subscription gates the workspace even with credits. An empty wallet stops new AI work even on an active plan.

What costs credits#

WorkHow it's priced
AI replies and draftsBy tokens used, so a one-line answer costs a fraction of a long one. This is the bulk of normal usage.
Voice callsPer minute, combining the carrier and the voice engine you chose. A more lifelike voice costs more per minute than the standard one.
WhatsApp voice notesPer minute of audio transcribed.
Knowledge ingestionBy text length, not by file count. Re-crawls only pay for what actually changed.
Campaign sendsA small flat charge per message sent. Failed sends aren't charged.
Custom voice previewsA flat charge per generated clip.

Exact rates live in the app

Prices are business decisions that change. The Usage page shows what you were actually charged, broken down by channel and kind, rather than asking you to reconcile a rate card.

What's free#

  • Searching your knowledge base at reply time - you pay to ingest, not to retrieve.
  • Playing the canned voice samples in the voice picker.
  • Everything that isn't AI work: the inbox, CRM, tasks, routing, analytics, team management.

Topping up#

Buy credits on the Billing page opens a Razorpay checkout. Pick a preset - ₹2,500, ₹5,000 or ₹10,000 - or enter your own amount between ₹100 and ₹200,000.

10% bonus creditsLimited time

Recharge ₹2,500 or ₹5,000 and you get 10% extra - a ₹5,000 top-up credits ₹5,500 to your wallet. This offer may end without notice.

Every top-up, grant, refund and adjustment is recorded as a transaction you can look back through.

Low-balance alerts#

A warning fires when the balance falls to your alert threshold, ₹250 by default, and again when it empties. Each level alerts once per cycle and resets on top-up, so you get a useful warning rather than a daily nag.

Running out#

At zero, the agent stops replying

New AI work is refused across every channel - replies, calls, campaign sends, playground tests. Your data is untouched: conversations, leads, knowledge and settings are all still there, and everything resumes the moment you top up. There is no waiting period.

The things that break most visibly are the ones customers see: a live chat that stops answering and a phone number that no longer holds a conversation. If you run auto-send on a customer-facing channel, keep a buffer.

The usage page#

  • Spend broken down by channel and by kind of work, so you can see whether voice or campaigns is what's actually costing you.
  • Filterable by period.
  • Useful for spotting a misconfiguration - a campaign sending far more than you expected, or a voice engine costing more per minute than it's worth.

Phone numbers#

The Phone numbers tab lists numbers attached to the workspace, their carrier and their monthly cost where Splice provisions them. Numbers you bring from your own Twilio, Plivo or Exotel account are billed by that carrier directly, not through Splice.

Plans & cancellation#

Splice is invite-only and sold with a person rather than a checkout page - plans are scoped around your channels and volume during onboarding. Email support@spliceai.co to get a workspace provisioned or to change a plan.

  • A subscription that lapses - past due, cancelled or expired - gates the workspace: you keep access to your data, but new AI work is blocked until it's resolved.
  • Cancelling takes effect at the end of the paid period, not immediately.
  • Nothing is deleted as a result of cancelling. Leads, conversations and knowledge stay put.

Keeping costs sane

  • Watch the Usage tab for a fortnight after enabling a new channel - voice is the one that surprises people.
  • Prune knowledge sources you re-crawl but never use. Ingestion is charged, retrieval isn't.
  • Raise the alert threshold above the default if a stopped agent would cost you more than the credits would.
  • Top up in ₹5,000 multiples for the bonus.
