Settings

Everything on this page is about you, not the workspace. Channels, team, roles, agents and billing each have their own pages - Settings is your profile, what you're notified about, and your account security.

Profile#

  • Name and avatar - what teammates see on assignments and mentions.
  • Timezone, which is what makes due dates, follow-up timing and the activity heatmap read correctly for you.
  • Your email, workspace and role are shown read-only. Changing a role is an admin action from Members.

Notifications#

In-app notifications are always on. What you control here is email, and which kinds of thing are worth interrupting you for.

Email notifications verify once

The first time you enable email notifications, Splice sends a one-time code to confirm the address is really yours. After that, muting and unmuting individual types is instant.

Splice can also be installed to your phone's home screen for push notifications on new inbox activity - useful if you cover out-of-hours.

Email privacy#

If you forward a whole mailbox, some of what arrives is nobody's business - including the agent's. Email privacy protection excludes messages from being read at all.

  • Block by sender domain, by exact sender address, or by subject keyword.
  • Preset categories cover the obvious cases: Banking & Finance, and Security Alerts - the latter catching the login codes and password resets you'd never want summarised.
  • Excluded mail is skipped, not stored and hidden.

This is your exclusion list, not a workspace policy

The rules apply to your own account's email. A teammate forwarding their mailbox has their own list, and admins can't set one centrally.

Password & sessions#

ControlBehaviour
Set or change passwordOptional - you can live entirely on Google or one-time codes. Changing an existing password requires the current one.
Active sessionsShows where you're signed in, with 'sign out all others' to revoke every session but this one.

No authenticator app yet

Splice uses emailed one-time codes for sign-in and verification. There's no TOTP or hardware-key second factor today - if you sign in with Google, your Google 2FA is what protects the account.

Sign out all others is the right move after losing a laptop or ending a contractor's access to a shared machine - it takes effect on their next request, not at their next login.

Deleting your account#

Deletion is a two-stage process: the account is disabled immediately, then permanently purged after a short grace period, so an accidental or angry deletion can still be reversed by support within that window.

Workspace data is not yours to delete

Deleting your account removes you. The workspace's conversations, leads and knowledge belong to the workspace and stay - an admin has to remove those separately.

Worth doing on day one

  • Set your timezone. Everything time-shaped in the product reads off it.
  • Mute the notification types you'll otherwise start filtering in your mail client.
  • If your forwarded mailbox is a personal one, set up the privacy exclusions before connecting it, not after.
